File Preferences

Open file using directory of currently active document
If checked, the folder of the current document will be used as default when opening a new file

Create Backup File
If checked, before saving a document, Twistpad will create a file with the contents prior to saving the file using the selected method (BAK extension or adding a ~ before the extension)

Detect when a document is changed outside Twistpad
If Checked, Twistpad will warn if a opened file has been changed outside Twistpad and will prompt for reload. (Please note that reloading a file may cause information to be lost)

Warn when opening a possible binary file
If checked, Twistpad will scan the first bytes of the file looking for unusual characters not usually present in a plain text file and display a warning message.

Warn when saving a ANSI file with double byte characters
If Checked, Twistpad detects if a file with (Unicode) double byte characters is saved in Ansi format.

Automatically detect UTF-8 Files without signature
If Checked, Twistpad automatically detects UTF-8 encoded Files without signature. It's strongly recommended this option is set, since, if turned off, UTF-8 Files without signature will be opened as ANSI, thus potentially losing information. If you don't use Unicode files you can switch off this option

Don't show new file dialog when selecting from the toolbar
If checked, when clicking on the New File button in the toolbar, an empty text document is created instead of showing the New File Dialog

Discard trailing spaces when saving
If checked, trailing spaces in the document are removed

Include last document folder(s) in tab display
If checked, the last folder(s) in the document path will be included in the switch bar tabs and other places alongside the filename.

Level
Select the backwards level that should be displayed

Show read only icon in tab display
If Checked, a small lock icon will be shown alongside the name in the document respective document tab.

Include full path in the title bar
If Checked, the full path of the currently selected document in Twistpad will be shown in the main window title area.
